Tax Concessions to strengthen the Tourism Industry affected by the

Minister of Finance Mangala Samaraweera has taken to his official
Twitter account today (07.05.2019) regarding tax concessions to
strengthen the Tourism Industry affected by the Easter Sunday Attacks
VAT on Tourism Sector

VAT will be reduced from 15% to 5% on hotels and tour operators
registered with SLTDA from 01st April 2019 to 31st March 2020.
Concession for Security Equipment
-
Importered security equipment will be duty free (except for NBT)
effective from 7th May 2019.
